What Is The 10/40 Window?
The most fundamental reason why committed Christians focus on the 10/40 window is because it contains the least evangelized countries in the world.

The Facts
Fact Group #1

• An astonishing 97% of the people who inhabit the least envangelized countries live in the 10/40 window.
• While it constitutes only one-third of the earth's total land area, nearly two-thirds of the world's people reside in the 10/40 window, with the population nearing four billion.
• This area is dominated by three religious sects. The majority of those enslaved by Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism live within the 10/40 window.

Fact Group #2

• There are 2.7 billion Buddhists, Hindus and Muslims in the 10/40 window.
• From its center in the 10/40 window, Islam is reaching out energetically to all parts of the globe. In similar strategy, we must penetrate the heart of Islam with the liberating truth of the gospel. We must do all in our power to show Muslims the highest prophet described in the Koran is not Mohammed but Jesus Christ. And that He is not only the greatest prophet, but the Son of God Himself who died and resurrected in order that millions of Muslims may be saved.

Fact Group #3

• 82% of the poorest of the poor live in the 10/40 window.
• On average, they exist on less that five hundred dollars per person, per year. Although 2.4 billion of these people live within the 10/40 window, only 8% of all missionaries work among them.
• Committed Christians cannot ignore the reality that there is a remarkable overlap between the poorest countries of the world and those that are least evangelized.

Fact Group #4

• 2.4 Billion people, 40% of the world's population, live on less than $1.40 per day in the 10/40 window.
• It contains the largest spiritually bankrupt ethnolinguistic mega-peoples (over one million). In fact, over 90% of the individuals in these people groups live in the 10/40 window.

• Of the world's 12,000 ethnolinguistic peoples, about 3,000 - 3,600 are "World A" peoples of which less that 50% are likely to have heard the gospel.
